The Full Story

Hello, fellow sports enthusiasts! I'm the proud founder of King of Sports Collectibles, Kolby (KOF) and my journey as a passionate sports fan and collector has been nothing short of a lifelong adventure. It's this very passion that has led me to start this exciting venture in 2024, with the goal of helping others grow and cherish their own sports collections.

From my early teen years, my love for sports memorabilia was more than just a hobby; it was a way of life. My room back then was a humble shrine to sports greatness, adorned with posters, magazine and newspaper clippings, box scores, framed photos, and sports cards of iconic athletes that covered every inch of wall space. This passion only grew as I stepped into my college years. My dorm room was a testament to my dedication, with walls lined with posters, creating an inspiring tapestry of sports history and achievement.

As I ventured into adulthood, my "bachelor pad" became a gallery of sports memorabilia. It wasn't just a home; it was a museum of my sports passion. Every room told a different story, with framed jerseys, autographed photos, and an array of collectibles that mirrored the evolution of my life alongside the sports world.

But it was my first official man cave that truly epitomized my love for sports collectibles. This sanctuary was more than just a room; it was a culmination of years of collecting and cherishing sports history. Wall to wall, it was adorned with framed photos, jerseys, pennants, banners, and newspaper clippings. The bar top was a collage of all of the sports tickets from (almost) all the games I've gone to in my lifetime (not enough space for all of them) each piece a narrative of great sporting moments and memories.

I am currently in my second official man cave. My collection from all of the years is on display but it is more of a seasonal rotation type thing than covering wall to wall like the previous man cave. I rotate the framed stuff in and out depending on what sports season it is while my most prized pieces are on display all year round. The main wall features two 65" TVs for viewing multiple games at once (I really like sports). I have two young sons and I have already started their sports collections with them as well.
